Once chemotherapy has been completed, the stem cell infusion begins at approximately 1:00 pm and is usually completed by 3:00 pm.
We recommend avoiding food after 12:00 pm on the day of the procedure. You may drink fluids freely unless instructed otherwise.
Each cryopreserved stem cell bag is retrieved individually from liquid nitrogen and immediately placed into a warm water bath for thawing.
The thawing process takes approximately 2–3 minutes, after which the cells are infused without delay to preserve their viability.
During the infusion, patients receive supportive treatment, including 3–4 liters of saline, antihistamines, corticosteroids, and additional medications if clinically required.
Throughout the procedure, we continuously monitor vital signs, including ECG (heart rhythm), blood pressure, respiratory rate, and body temperature.
Temporary side effects may include a strong tomato-like taste or odor and reddish discoloration of the urine.
After the stem cell infusion, patients are asked to urinate into a special collection bag so that the urine color can be monitored.
